After achieving phenomenal success and receiving encouraging response from both exhibitors & visitors for the previous show, The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Kerala , Directorate of Arecanut and Spices Development & Foundation for Organic Agriculture and Rural Development is proud to announce the 2nd edition of India International Food and Agri Expo (IIFAE – ’09) from November 19th to November 21st, 2009 at Gokulam Convention Center, near Ernakulam Town (North) Railway Station, Cochin, Kerala, India.

The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) is a global not-for-profit organization focused on promoting entrepreneurship. TiE helps budding entrepreneurs by way of advice, guidance and assistance from successful and experienced professionals and entrepreneurs from different industries. Its greatest strength is its network of 53 chapters across 12 countries.
TiE Kerala Chapter was registered in March 12, 2003 with 10 Charter Members. Within a short span of less than 5 years, the chapter grew to its present strength of 32 Charter members and 130 Associate Members who are CEOs of SMEs/Professionals representing industries like IT, Hospitality/Tourism, Food, Agro, Financial Services, Pharmaceuticals, Education, Consultancy, Automobiles, Manufacturing etc.

Foundation for Organic Agriculture and Rural Development

Foundation for Organic Agriculture and Rural Development (Organic Foundation) is a not-for-profit organisation registered under section 25 of the Companies Act 1956 with a mandate to promote organic agriculture and rural development.
Our mission is to promote Organic Agriculture and related Trade by disseminating information and knowledge in organic agriculture and marketing to farmers, small farmer groups, processors, traders, NGOs, development organisations and other interested parties. We undertake training and capacity building programmes and facilitates small-farmer group certification through setting up internal control system (ICS). We are also involved in rural development, developing farm entrepreneurship, farm mechanization, setting up model organic farms, processing units and participatory technology development. |

Directorate of Arecanut and Spices Development, Calicut, Government of India

Directorate of Arecanut and Spices Development was established as a subordinate office under Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India with effect from 1st April, 1966 at Calicut in Kerala, in order to streamline the activities in the production front at national level with regard to Arecanut, a group of spice crops and medicinal & aromatic plants, on abolition of the Commodity Committees.
At present the Directorate of Arecanut and Spices Development, Calicut have the mandate for the development of a group of spices other than cardamom, a large number of medicinal and aromatic plants, betel vine and Arecanut grown in the country at National Level. The Directorate undertakes overall coordination of all the development activities implemented by different agencies in the mandatory crops and monitors the implementation of National Horticulture Mission in respect of spices and aromatic crops. |
